Advisory Board

Advisory Board Mission Statement
The Advisory Board was created to foster and enhance the reality that Compassion Coalition is truly a coalition of pastors, churches and believers all over our community. These believers are committed to join hands, walk together, and engage our community as salt and light and as the aroma of Christ, loving others and serving them in Jesus’ name. The goal is for those with an external focus in our city to accept “ownership” of the ministry, to see themselves as true “stakeholders” and to be able to confidently state “we are Compassion Coalition.” The board is composed of pastors and church leaders from a broad denominational spectrum and from every geographical sector of the city.

The advisory board engages in prayerful dialogue regarding the places in Knoxville where a coalition of churches can have the greatest impact. Alliances will be formed and ministries birthed out of these relationships. They will be ambassadors and advocates who promote the idea of externally-focused churches working together. The board will advise the staff of Compassion Coalition in regard to things such as subjects of bi-monthly meetings and will also have input into the content and methodology of training offered. In short, the advisory board will be a synergistic body of externally-focused church leaders who are walking with the staff and board of Compassion Coalition to accomplish the mission of informing, equipping and connecting churches to impact the Knoxville community.”
